My Lord

With reference to Lux Canning's letter of the 12th October 1855, suggesting that steps should be taken for transferring to the Colonial Government the control of the Post Office at Hong Kong, I have the honor to transmit to Your Lordships a copy of a letter from the Colonial Office covering Despatch from the Lieutenant Governor of Hong Kong together with a report of a Committee appointed by the Governor in Council of the Legislative Council to consider this question, and also a report from the Lords Commissioner of the Treasury.
